Halloween

            Праздник проводится как обобщение по теме Past Simple, а также как  контроль знаний учащихся по страноведению по теме "Russian and American Holidays and Traditions”

Подготовка

          Составляются вопросы и задания по теме, готовится соответствующее оформление: символы Хэллоуина и презентация.

           Ученики делятся на две команды: американские и русские школьники. У каждого – визитки с именами.

Ход праздника:

1.    Представление. Представляется каждый член команды. Рассказывают о стране.

2.    Викторина по праздникам

1. This holiday Russian people celebrate in April or May. It is a religious holiday. People colour eggs.(Easter)

2. This holiday American people celebrate in June. They give their fathers and grandfathers presents and cards.(Father s Day)

3. The Russians celebrate this holiday in July. It is the holiday of water.(Ivan Kupala) и т.д.

J.( snuff)

W. Good Morning.What s the matter? Why are you crying?

J. Don t ask me. What day is it today?

Gil. It is the end of October.

J. There… you see. It s Halloween.

Gil. What is Halloween?

J. My dear child! What is Halloween? You may call it All Saints Eve. It s one and the same. Good to some and evil for others. It was evil for me.

W. Why?

J. I lived in the palace of our king. I was a cook. The king was kind and he had a little boy,his only son,named Jacko. Jacko had a bad habit to puff his cheeks up, like that.

G Was he a bad boy?

J. No but he was just a boy. He liked to tease and play noisy games.

W. But what happened?

It happened several years ago, upon an All Saints Eve. Jacko tease his nurse. And his old nurse placed an old and magic spell on little Jacko. She turned him into a pumpkin seed, and lost the seed

W. But What makes you so sad?

J. The king liked to eat pumpkin pie for breakfast and dinner.And now no one is allowed to make pumpkin pies.I m out of work. I m looking for pumpkin seed and Jacko. I must go.

Mrs. Fitch. Good morning. Could I have a rest on this bench?

W Please. Sit down.

Mrs Fitc. Thank you dear. Here is a present for you.

W. But these are only stones.

Mrs. Fitch. Wait till night. Good buy

W. It is evening already. What can I do with this present?

Gil. Bury them.

W. Of course I ll bury them.

W and Gil.(together) Oh, it is a pumpkin

J. What is it? I wander how it got here.

W. I buried the stones ,the old woman had given me.

J. It was a pumpkin seed

Guard. What ! A pumpkin! Planting a pumpkin is punished to death. Who gave you a pumpkin seed?

W. She gave it to me!

J. That s the nurse! She is a witch! Arrest her!

The King. Who planted the pumpkin.

J. You Majesty, I was your cook, may I cut this pumpkin?

The King Why do you wish to open it?

J.I have a feeling that prince Jacko might be inside.

The King You may open it.

(They cut the pumpkin)

The King   Jacko!!!

Jacko  Hello!

The King   Cook, will you come back in my kitchen?

J. Your Majesty, thank you.

The King  And  you girl, you ll be Princess Wanda.

W. You are very kind , Your Majesty. Thank you.

The King  One more thing.For now on, every year, on this day the people of my kingdom will celebrate Halloween,the day when my son was returned to me.

W. Everyone can cut out a face on a pumpkin and put a candle in it.We ll call it Jack O Lanten.
